Confrontation.

Most people think I'm afraid of confrontation.
At least that's what Samuel Leong thinks.
If it was 2-3 years ago, then yes, I would probably still be a chicken hiding in my barn.
As much as I hate to face any kind of confrontations, I dare say I ain't afraid of facing it when it's down to the line.

Is it such a bad thing???
People tend to see confrontation as this scary adult-conversation between two individuals that more often than not, end up in a huge fight that neither one would forgive nor forget.
No doubt, it is a scary conversation.
But things don't have to end that way.
To me, confrontation is all about speaking your mind and soul; what you think and feel about the other person or for something that you're not pleased at with the intention of mending the situation and relationship.
It is not about who's right or who's wrong.
It is about hearing and understanding each other out.
I've always believed that something good comes out from confrontation providing that you do it the right way lar... if you start cursing the other person then you'll be looking for trouble...
It's such a shame how most people would just let things pass em' by when they know something is seriously wrong... something has got to be done... and yet, not doing it.
People ask me, why don't you be the one to initiate the confrontation...
How can I, when the other party is not ready.
To avoid is to distant oneself from the other.
Eventually, there will be a point where one will be standing at the edge of the horizon and gradually moves beyond the horizon, disappearing out of sight.
Nothing left to do but to walk away,
the opposite direction.

Pretense

Life seriously sucks sometimes.
Tonight, it's one of those "sometimes".

I often fake a smile when I'm heart-broken or disappointed.
That's what I did tonight.
Although I fake a smile to cover up my sadness, deep down inside, I actually do hope people to ask me what's going on or a simple are you ok...
I know it sounds darn "self-pitiful" but I don't care...
I think it's only natural to feel that way.

I expected tonight to be a good one.
It was not.
I have only myself to blame.
Maybe people are right, I can't make decision for nuts.
My standard answer -
" I'm OK with anythinglar..."
But of course in actual fact, it's not ok.
I hate myself for being indecisive sometimes.
I hate it.

All these is draining me out.
The depression, thoughts, heart-break and the 'smile'.
Living in Pretense.

Speed Racer...

Remember that cartoon??
Speed Racer...
Oh, it was one of my all time favourite cartoon...
Anyway, last Wednesday I in a way lived my fantasy of being on a race track and kick some butt while I'm on it...
You see, this whole week is Convo week..
So, there are many kinds of activities being held in every corner of the uni...
one of which is GO-CART!!!
Me, Troy, Mervin and Kash being guys, couldn't resist the temptation of going full throttle on the track... heheheee...
It was awesome!!!
The moment I got on the track, it was minyak all the way...
Brakes?? What BrakEs??... kekee..
It was quite an experience I must say...
In the end, I came in first place, Merv' 2nd and Troy 3rd...
Kash??... Let's just say he was the "safety car"....

Getting all geared up for the big race..... =p

Me and my faithful "96"...

As you can see, I came in first... followed by Merv and Troy... Kash??... er... somewhere around lar... hehehee..

Awesome race!! We are going to have a go on it again this Saturday!! The race is on baby!!

Spirit

The good news first:
We made it to the quarter finals.
The bad news:
We lost in the quarter finals to some very unsporting team.

Woke up half-hearted this morning cause' really tired after yesterday's game.
Anyway, our first game was against an all-indian team.
Being an all-chinese team, we were pretty much intimidated by them.
You know-lar kan, indians are usually better than chinese in football...
Surprisingly though, we managed to pressure them and grabbed the first goal.
However, they got one back in the 2nd half and we had to decide on penalty.
Wa-LA! We beat em'!!
After that our team "spirit" were boosted.
Than came the quarter finals against this malay team who I didn't really like cause' they weren't very sporting ... tiada semangat kesukanan..
We played extremely well in the first half and even scored the first goal once again.
Something went wrong in the 2nd half though... we couldn't pressure as well... and things got pretty messy... they scored one back...
So we thought we ought to defend and push it to penalty.
Mana tau, last friggin minute they scored!!!!
ARGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sigh...
I still think we played better than em... we were definitely more sporting..
One dude actually pushed my team mate and wanted to fight... such losers...
What to do...
Well, my team mates were disappointed lar but I love their team spirit...
We made it pretty far actually and I think some people were pretty surprise to see us still in it especially after yesterday's bashing of 4-0...
We had a good laugh after the game and went makan together.... kekeke..
They are one bunch of jokers....
We vow to be back next year with a bang... hehee....
As for now,
our "Spirit" lives on.... hehehe...

Our team photo after the game we lost. Who cares we win or lose... we had fun!

Whacky picture.... they're a bunch of jokers... ignore the "finger"... hehehe...

Game on

I finally participated in my first ever competition in USM.
The Convex Futsal Competition.
Don't be fool by the sound of it, it ain't that grand.
Spent almost the whole day at the tennis court-turned-futsal court...
The weather was horrible!
Extremely HOT!!
And if that isn't bad enough, I'm actually down with flu and slight cough and sore throat.
Stupid Penang weather... why is it an island... ish....
Anyway, my team is the only chinese team in the competition so yes, you can say that we're the underdog... The rest were conquered by malay and some indian teams... oh, got some ang mo also... and in my team mate's own words, "Their hands are like our feet!"
We did pretty well actually.. It's a league system. So basically, we needed to get either the first or second place in our group to qualify to the next round, which will be a knock-out system.
The first game we won 2-o.
The second game we won 2-1.
The third we lost.
We lost real bad.

4-0!!!

Sigh. Yea. I know it looks pathetic but hey, 2 of our main players left after the 2nd game. Our last man balik so our defence had a big hole in the centre while our midfield was not able to take control with our "general" gone. Sigh. That's our consolation I guess, to know that we weren't against them in our full force. hehee... Overall though, I think our team did well. Tomorrow's game will be much gruelling than today... Knock-out system. No space for mistakes.

Win or die.
